I don't normally go for novel,s like this but the blurb on this story really interested me and l am so glad l have read this novel now. It was really well written and drew you in to the story straight away. It went easily between the 1940,s when the main character was a diplomat,s wife and the 1970,s when the main character and her grandson travel across Europe on a supposed journey to visit the place,s she had lived as a diplomat,s wife. The suspense was just right for this novel and the relationship that develop,s between the grandmother ( former diplomat,s wife) and her grandson is lovely. I really like the description,s of the place,s they visit and the people that they meet along the way and trying to figure out who are the good people and who are the bad people ! Although this book is not my normal genre l would definitely read something feom this author again
