This seems an easy read with an interesting main character. Alexa appears to have an interesting past, with various people/characters to learn about. It came across as an escapist type read - one that would be easy to daydream about. I like that its (if partly) set in Cornwall, as thats a pretty part of the UK, somewhere I've visited and like to imagine and the fact its also partly set in Italy makes me want to read it even more, as I love Italy. I liked the front cover as it added to the sense of mystery and intrigue, making me wonder what happened to Alexa in Italy.
I thought it seemed to have a good mix of both descriptions and dialogue and I'd like to read more of the story, although it is quite long at 448 pages but I'd be willing to give it a go if the chapters continue to be short and well spaced, as they were in the extract I read.
