This is a very enjoyable and skillfully written love story with absorbing characters that help to create a wonderful sense of time and place.
The main character Alexa is quite unprepared for, and does not appreciate, her really rather priveleged life because she is troubled by her mothers sudden death. This sets her on a quest for answers that leads her to abandon her home and she makes a series of bad decisions.
The descriptions of Cornwall, London and Venice were suberb and really enhance the story.
It is a compelling read and although at times you think you can almost predict the next part of the plot it still manages to surprise with a few twists along the way.
I definitely recommend this author and will read some of her other books too.
