I really loved the cover before I even started the book. It's bright, beautiful and it immediately draws your attention to the woman. You want to know who she is and why she's standing there in a pretty dress. If I was in a shop and saw it on a shelf it would grab my attention.
It's a historical romance which I'm not always too keen on but I loved the blurb so tried it anyway. Set in between two times - 1924 and 1931 we learn more about Alexa's past as the story goes on. The story starts in Cornwall, which is a beautiful area, and revolves around Alexa's family life and her best friend Harvey. I fell in love with all the characters - they were painted so vividly it was like they were coming out of the page. Such a sad story but I enjoyed every moment. 5*!
