The Forgotten Sister follows Cassie, or Cassidie, as she was once known, as she delves into her past to find out about her birth mother. Teetering on the edge of not upsetting her adoptive family while also investigating the meaning behind the weird dreams/memories she’s been having, Cassie knows there’s more to the truth than what her parents are telling her.
This was a really good read at examining the fine line between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ and the grey area in the middle. Each side has compelling arguments which are balanced delicately and the characters are flawed and realistic, making them likeable and unlikeable at the same time and incredibly realistic. Exploring a sensitive topic such as this takes great writing skill, but even more so to make you change allegiances with different characters throughout and constantly question where you stood on the matter.
