This book isn't one that you can necessarily describe as an enjoyable read as it deals with themes that tug at the heart strings, rather than lighthearted cute ones. The actual writing of the book was great and the characters were written in a way that was both believable and well enough developed to care about them and their story.
The plot was definitely a lot darker than I had anticipated when going into this book, and I wasn't emotionally prepared for the brutal reality of the care system. This story is one of discoveries, figuring out where your loyalties lie, and secrets. Whilst a hard-hitting read, it is no doubt a good one that I read fairly fast but would suggest going in cautiously as it is filled with sensitive topics!
