As a mother of 2 teenage daughters I could easily relate to the emotional rollercoaster experienced by the parents in this riveting novel. Cassie and Erin are sisters with very different personalities but a close bond. However when Cassie, the adopted older sister, decides to search for her biological mother it rocks the foundations of this close and loving family. This novel poses moral dilemmas - what should be kept secret and what should be shared? Should a choice made when a child is an infant remain a secret when she grows and needs to know where she came from? The pain felt on all sides - mother, father, daughter and sister - was beautifully crafted and entirely believable. Teenage angst, adult anguish and a gripping storyline kept me on tenterhooks until the final pages. This book made me think about it long after I finished it. Ultimately a lovely but very real story.
