This book is very well written but I did struggle with it. It's an easy read but really pulls at the old heart strings.
It's based around Cassie, who was adopted & sets about finding her birth mother. Things take an unusual twist (which I didnt really see coming), and nearly drive Cassie & her family apart. Her parents have lied to about a vital part of her life before coming to them.
Cassie tries to make sense of it all & deal with it on her own, without help from her parents, with disastrous results.
I felt for all the characters as I could see from the parents point of view that they didnt know how to reach their daughter so try enlist social services help. Erin their biological daughter who is younger by 4 yrs, is very close to Cassie, but their bond is really tested.
Cassie gets herself into a situation but finds out whose really there for her.
Real thought provoking story with a lovely ending. 'The End' page had me in tears. Real insight into adoption, thoughts, feelings & how it can affect so many. Would definitely recommend it.
