This book is about sisters, their relationship as they discover more and more about each other and themselves. An added element to that is that one of them is adopted. This situation is difficult to relate to unless you have experienced it yourself but what I’ve enjoyed about this story is that you don’t necessarily need to know all there is to know about that subject because your main focus as a reader is the characters and their portrayal of what is happening around them. I found myself feeling sympathetic toward the main character Cassie during her struggles, even though I felt unable to relate to her. What I was also impressed with was the inclusion of the rest of the family too. The writing was soft and easy even if the subject matter was not. Overall a pleasant read that made me question how I would act were I in that position, which is not an easy thing to do with such a highly emotive plot line.
