Drama is not particulary my favourite genre, but this was a good read nevertheless. The story follows Cassie, a seventeen year old girl who was adpoted when she was young. Determined to uncover the truth, she sets out to find her birth mother, but learns that her adoptive parents had been keeping a terrible secret from her.
I found this book was suprisingly better than my intial opinions with plot twists that kept me interested throughout. In particular who 'the forgotten sister is'. It illustrates the complicated process of adoption and the difficulties for the family even after several years.
The characters were quite likeable, but other times not so much. Whilst I understand Cassie is a teenage girl, I still found her quite stubborn at times and often hostile towards her adpotive parents.
Overall, a well-written family drama with emotional scenes.
