the whole idea and plot of the book is quite interesting, though i wouldn’t say it’s a real representation of fostering and adoption. i also only rated it 4 stars as the main character hates dogs and i love dogs with all my heart. it was slightly confusing at the beginning but i eventually got the grip of it, just seemed like an ordinary teen book for a young girl who’s just trying to figure out who she is after her adoption. the characters aren’t as deep as i thought they might be but with contemporary fiction, they characters are never really that complex if you think about it. you never peel the onion back, it’s just the first like 2 layers of the character. it was a fun read that i could definitely get behind again and i look forward to reading more from this author in the future, providing they have some more good books for the readers online.
