The Forgotten Sister is a very well-written book by Caroline Bond tackling a difficult and sensitive subject, that of adoption. Initially the reader could be forgiven for wondering if the 'forgotten' sister is the adopted or natural sister however the author has a few surprises along the way. Cassie, the main subject and adopted sister, feels in her teens she wants to know more about her background and natural mother. Unfortunately her adoptive parents have withheld some information believing this action to be in Cassie's best interests. Cassie, and her adopted family, face many traumas as Cassie carries out her own search for the truth with unexpected results. This is a fascinating book and well worth a place on any must-read list.
