I quite enjoyed the opening chapters of this book. The revisiting of friends from a decade ago and the events that happened then pushing their way to the forefront of your life now is handled well and there is a creeping tension amongst the main players.

The author allows you to slot in to the rather confusing world quite easily and by the end of the short sample you do feel like you know these people, not well but like you shared a few lectures or parties with them back in the day. Passing acquaintances, nothing more and yet so much more.
