This story seemed to have so much potential after reading the introduction but for me it just didn't deliver.
There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on the relationship between the characters but at no point did I feel that I had got to know or understand any of them. The main character Kate was, quite frankly, irritating with her constant references to Severine, whose 'image' in various forms pops up all over the place.
It really didn't pick up any pace until about page 180 when finally the characters started to show some emotion and fear about the situation they were in. Even after persevering to the end there wasn't a satisfactory conclusion to make it worthwhile just a half hearted 'we know whose done it but can't prove it' scenario.
