Considering she's the title character the French Girl isn't much of a focus in this book.....going back 10 years to the night of her disappearance after her body is found we learn very little about her, although she crops up now and then in a weird ghost device which doesn't work at all, and although it might be meant to depict the main characters despair, and psychological state it's so poorly written it just feels ridiculous.

We get romance, mystery, corporate intrigue....and honestly it's all a bit dull in places...there's a stereotyped frosty 'baddie' who is utterly one-dimensional, some very clunky prose, and a bizarre obsession with mentioning kitten heels which I had hoped might mean one had been used as the murder weapon just to inject some excitement into this....but sadly that was just wishful thinking.

This was full of potential but just didn't live up to it's promise.
