Well I sat down to read this on a Saturday evening and it was done by Sunday! Despite feeling at the beginning that I wouldn’t really like it, I really got into it and was drawn in by all of the characters. In particular the character of Lara was very likeable. The reason I am giving this 4 stars and not 5 is because I didn’t really like the character of Severine running through it. I won’t give it away but it sort of took away from the mystery for me and added a magical element that I didn’t feel was necessary or believeable, especially at the end. I also thought the ending was a bit rushed and would have liked to read how the other characters ended up. A good debut novel overall though! Thanks
