At six years old Arden Maynor gets washed away in a storm drain throughout the night during an episode of sleepwalking. Nearing to the 20th anniversary of her 3 day disappearance Arden (who changed her name to Olivia after the attention that followed her in the media) started sleepwalking again. Throughout her sleepwalking episode she wakes in the presence of a male dead body.

Starting off as a slow read this novel quickly gathers speed and smoothly turns into a gripping and compulsive thriller. Intercepted with snippets from the news and interviews throughout the media storm that followed Ardens childhood trauma.

This novel is wrote in a first person point of view which makes the novel entertaining and an easy read. My only qualm about the first person perspective is that it lacks reliability, understandably the novel is fiction however surviving in a storm drain for three days throughout a raging storm seems improbable yet with the use of the perspective it makes it seem somewhat plausible.

The theme of the novel evolves fame and the pernicious effect it has on those involved. It allows the reader to feel sorry for Olivia and supports her through the quiet and secretive life she decides to lead. However her private life soon becomes public.

Overall a really good thriller which has multiple twists throughout the investigation yet the plausibility does come into question. This thriller is so good even if some things are unanswered. But would definitely recommend.
