I enjoyed it but wasn't excited by it

I like the cover of this book. It gives a hint of what the girl was rescued from. It is a first for me from this author, I didn’t know what to expect with her writing before I started. It took me a little to get into the book. Once I was in, I enjoyed reading it and trying to figure out who, what and how. I think it was written well and I liked that I kept changing my mind about the characters. It kept me guessing and questioning a couple of the characters on who it could have been. I liked the concept of the book and would find it creepy if it was a real-life scenario, however, while reading it I didn’t find it creepy or haunting. I did read a big chunk of the book in one day because I liked it as a read and wanted to know what happened but I wasn’t excited by it. This wouldn’t stop me from reading more from the author. I am intrigued to see what the other books she has written has to offer.
