This is a story about a girl who surived a storm miraculously. The writer immediately grips you by stating that the mother already knew she was gone. the book is presented from the girl's perspective, which helps the reader navigate her feelings and emotions as she explores her past.

We are introduced to the toxic mother-daughter relationship between the protagonist and her mother. Her mother has most likely died, and she is holding some of her possessions.
The protagonist is seen battling with her past traumas, and we are revvealed that she sleepwalks.

Overall, the book is really good, navigating Olivia's memories and trauma, kind of engaging the reader into her life. I really liked the extract.
