Not for me as I felt zero connection to any of the characters

I very much suspect that this is a “marmite” book and there will be plenty of readers who love the style of writing and the slightly odd story. Sadly I’m not one of those people.
The premise is interesting enough (girl gets famous as a child for miraculously surviving being swept into a drain during a massive storm but the past comes back to haunt her 20 years later) but I found the style of writing really hard to get on with.
I felt zero connection to the story or characters and just found the whole thing really flat and uninteresting. There is a fairly major twist at the end, which I certainly didn’t see coming, but given my general levels of disinterest I found I wasn’t shocked or surprised just merely “oh, whatever”.
The cover was stunning though, easily the best thing about the book.
