I have given four stars for The Girl From Widow Hills as, although it took quite a while to get into a rhythm, it had a very good story line. Sadly, it did not keep my interest and I tended to pick it up and put it down.
However , It was thoughtfully crafted, redirecting from the past to the present in a skilful way.
The main character, Olivia, was engaging and one had sympathy with her story. To be swept away in a storm and be lost for days ... intriguing ...
This really was the thread that kept one reading... what happened? Where had she been ? What was the mystery that was trying to come out some twenty years later ..
It wasn’t as flowing as I would have liked but maybe I’m being unfair. Perhaps it is because this book should be read slowly, savouring what’s coming next. Personally I like a thriller to keep me turning the pages.
