Slow starter but thrilling in the end
I read the first couple of chapters of this and was really intrigued by how it began, so I was stoked when I won a copy (thanks RF!).
I found it easy to get into, though it did move at a slower pace up until around two-thirds through - some of the beginning did feel like filler. Once it really started moving though it had my heart skipping beats!
I would have liked a bit more background on some of the other characters - I didn't majorly connect with any of them, but I didn't particularly hate any either. I didn't seem to notice plot holes like some of the other reviewers - maybe I wasn't paying enough attention OR I managed to piece things together 🤷♀️ I did guess at some parts of the plot but others I was like "Ohhhhh!".
Miranda's writing style was engrossing and thrilling, and I especially liked the TV/book/interview excerpts scattered between chapters - it helped me to understand what had happened in the past a bit more and linked the story together.
This was my first read by Megan Miranda and I'll definitely be looking out for more!
