This book was quite captivating from the start and I'd definitely like to know more of Misha's, Sophia's and Dr Korczak's stories.
I'm ashamed to say that, somehow, despite having studied World War Two on numerous occasions at school, that I can't remember ever having heard of the Warsaw Ghetto before which is what initially drew me towards this book. I'd like to know more about that particularly dark period of time, especially about the people who bravely did whatever they could to help others.
The writing drew me in quite quickly and was very atmospheric. There was something almost haunting, and very chilling, in the first chapter as you saw Warsaw for the first time.
