Pulls you in and teaches you without realising it...

I must confess that I don't know much about Warsaw or its history, so I was drawn to the book by its blurb, especially as it is based on true events. Thus far, I like how I'm learning about what things were like back then without the book being didactic. Some books push the historical facts in your face, but this one has woven them in quite nicely with the actual story. From the first section that I read, I'm already hooked and I would love to read more!
