The hanging girl is not a book that I would have picked up, I was not sure whether I would like it but I was intrigued by the story and decided to give it a go, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I enjoyed the storyline. The main character Skye whose real name is Candi Skye Thorn is the daughter of a single mum who reads tarot cards. Skye gives her own readings and thinks that by telling people what they want to hear is an easy way to make money from her classmates.
In the background is her friend Drew who wants them both to move to New York when they finish school, leads to Skye making a bad decision by getting involved in the kidnapping of a girl in her class to get money. Skye is a sassy character who is always getting into trouble, I liked her interaction with Mr Lester one of the teachers. I felt that the storyline did become less credible towards the end. I felt that Skye’s character was younger than she was
