I was super eager to read The Hanging Girl because of it's gorgeous cover. The Hanging Girl had me very hooked pretty much straight away. Skye's narrative had me instantly engaged. I was never sure whether I could trust her but it was very easy to sympathise with her need for something more than the life she had. I understood the lies she told, creating the life she wished to have. There is a fantastic twist a third of the way through, and although I'm sure some suspicious readers may be able to guess but it didn't really matter to me, Skye was a strong enough narrator that she didn't need a surprise conclusion to elevate her story, it was enough to wonder what would happen when the truth came out and I found the ending very satisfying.
