This has the feel of an exciting YA novel - fast paced, full of panache and chock full of interesting characters.
I was immediately drawn to Skye who explodes on to the first few pages as a complex teenager, full of vulnerabilities, trying to hide from her life of poverty while watching her hopes of a successful future disappear. The lies she weaves (and has woven) seem to serve as the catalyst of the novel and once Skye has agreed to answer the note in the library the scene is set for a roller coaster thriller.
I loved the fact that Skye could read the tarot cards (while being a non believer) and used this as a ruse to get money by becoming an expert in body language and an innate gift for reading people. Sounds pretty cool to me!
