The Hanging Girl was a quick read - interesting storyline, fast-paced, and required some level of thought to work out what was going to happen next. Skye was in some ways a great character but in others very frustrating. It seemed strange to me that she wouldn't admit to her best friend the difficulties that she had found herself in rather than just letting herself get into a situation where she was so desperate for the money that she would agree to some kind of crazy plan.

It was again one of those books where I would be intrigued to find out what happened next and whether Skye would ever be 100% OK with what happened. While I could understand why her Mum did what she did, parents often do whatever it takes to protect their children, it also seemed an extreme reaction. I'm sure there would have been some way that the characters could have resolved the situation without someone getting killed and the others covering up a murder and framing someone else. I also am not that big a fan of someone potentially being sent to prison for a crime they didn't commit even if they weren't a very nice person. For me that didn't seem right.

There were lots of questions like that which it felt that the story either didn't give me answers to or gave answers that I didn't like.

I didn't hate it though. So in short, not amazing but not terrible.
