This book picks up the pace from about halfway through. At first it's a little slow and a little boring, but then the twists and turns start to unfold. Skye is a troubled teen, coming from a broken home, just about getting by and desperate to get out of town at the end of graduation. She'll do anything to get the money to go to New York with her so called best friend. Unfortunately a plan that seems fool proof, fails miserably and puts Skye very much in the spotlight. However with a little determination and help from her battered tarot cards, she figures out exactly why the plan failed and who was responsible.
All through the book Skye's anxieties play a big part of the story line. I think a lot of teenagers will be able to relate. Personally I felt the story was ok, but not particularly gripping enough for me. As I said if you can get through the first half, then the second is much better.
