I'd like to start off by thanking the team at Readers First and Avon publishing for sending me an ebook version of The Heatwave to read and review.

After a girl from her school goes missing, Felicity fled her hometown and removed every memory of her past, vowing to never return. But when a news story flashes up that sixteen years later, another girl has gone missing, Felicity knows she has to return and solve this mystery. What seems like an unhealthy obsession soon unravels into something much more sinister, as the cases - though so far apart - seem so strikingly similar.

From the sneak peek I read of The Heatwave, I knew it would be the sort of book I enjoyed but I never knew it would be the type of psychological thriller that I loved! With a promising and distressing start that throws you into the deep end, The Heatwave only continues to unfold as a shocking, disturbing, and truly twisted novel.

Katerina Diamond's writing style is a mixture of fast-paced and delicately full of details, that kept me hooked from the two short days it took for me to finish this. Whenever I thought I had completely solved the mystery, there was another twist that sent shockwaves through the entire plot and made me rethink everything. Right up until the final page, Katerina delivers endless twists that send you on a rollercoaster of emotions.

Halfway through the book, I found myself a little fed up with Felicity, wondering just why on Earth she was so invested in this crime that resembled one from sixteen years ago. I asked myself "who would do that? Who would go home after so long?", but as the story continued to unfold and the plot thickened, I understood. Everything became clearer and even more insidious.

Overall, The Heatwave is the type of book I will be raving about to all of my fellow thriller lovers and I can't wait to read more from Katerina in the future.
