This was my first read by this author and I must admit what lured me in was the cover (publishers know how to attract new readers!). I had read mixed reviews so I went in open minded..

It's a perfect read for the summer , set in Devon during a heatwave . I found myself being transported there and loved the setting, it was easy to picture the scene . Told in both the past and present with 2 narrators , it isn't confusing in anyway though which these types often can be.

I wont give any spoilers but its a very gripping thriller and will leave you just wanting to carry on reading , full of twists and turns I didn't see coming.

I will definitely look to read more from this author now, a great stand alone read.
