I've read several books by this author and this is her first standalone novel so I wanted to give it go. Because every once in a while I need a break from police procedures and this one did the trick.
It's summer and a rather hot one at that and set in a small little town in Devon, England.
The story goes back and forth between the present day and the past.
Then we have our main character, Felicity who happens to see a news story on television about a missing girl in her hometown. It has scarily similarities to an incident that took place years ago when she lived there herself. I like Felicity. I find her character strong and determined.
She decides to go there on the spur of the moment and investigate. Something happened in her hometown sixteen years ago that changed her life.
This is very well written and I would absolutely love to find out the rest of this intriguing story!
