I love Katerina Diamond novels. I read the entire DS Imogen Grey series before reading this stand-alone novel, and this was an easy 5/5 for me.

This definitely a slow-burning thriller where the plot takes a complete twist towards the end of the story. The last 150 pages or so are intense and the plot thickens to an extent that I did not expect.

Katerina narrates in the past in the third person from the perspective of Jasmine and the present in the first person from Felicity. This is an extremely clever writing method, especially when the plot comes together in the end and the two narratives converge into one conclusive outcome. At first, I was confused to how the two viewpoints would come together but it all make sense at the end.

Most of the characters were likeable and easy to connect with, especially with hearing the viewpoints from both Felicity and Jasmine. This made it much easier to connect with both of the characters and get a feel for their attitudes and personalities.
