Initially I thought the title Heatwave bared no relevance to the book, however on reflection I now see that it does.
Jasmine and Felicity are two secondary school kids, living in a sleepy seaside town called Sidmouth, in Devon. This is their last summer before college and the future. This year though is different for Jasmine. She would normally have been jetting off with her parents for the summer, helping out with a charity in the more remote parts of the world. However, due to her fathers recent operation, they have decided to stay home for the summer. Enter Tim the lodger. He is there to help out around the house, doing some building work here and there, and staying in the guest house at the bottom of the garden. Jasmine finds herself attracted to him, he has a certain element of danger about him that she can't deny. One night a girl goes missing, could Tim have something to do with it or are other factors at play?
