This book really is the perfect summer thriller! I was excited to read this one because I've read some of Katerina Diamond's books before and loved them so I did have high hopes for The Heatwave. Well it certainly didn't disappoint!
The story begins with Felicity finding out about a young girl going missing in her hometown of Sidmouth. Determined to find out more she heads back there also in an attempt to find out what happened sixteen years ago when another girl had disappeared. The story is told from Felicity's point of view in the present day and also from her childhood best friend, Jasmine, in the past.
This really is quite an intense read and is rather unsettling in places, but I found myself so engrossed in it that I read it very quickly, desperate to know what had happened. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend this one to anyone who is looking for a thrilling summer read!
