Slightly far fetched

I was really enjoying this book until the twist towards the end, which although I had guessed parts of, I found a little too far fetched to be believable.
Told from the perspective of Felicity in the present, and Jasmine in the past, it follows the story currently of a missing girl, and in the past a girl who went missing both in the seaside town of Sidmouth. Felicity feels compelled to go back to her childhood hometown to try and help find the girl, risking her marriage in the process, but can she help to save her?
As I said previously, I enjoyed most of this book. The pace was good, and the characters were nicely developed, I just felt the twist was too dramatic and slightly spoiled the book for me.
But others may disagree!
