Slow burner
I’ve not read anything of this authors before but had heard good reviews. This book took me a while to get into, Initially it was very slow. I got confused with the main character and couldn’t understand why?; however I persisted and pleased I did, unexpected plots twists, and a story line that became apparent as to why I was confused with the main character. I enjoyed the past and present tense of the writing style . The plot of dark family secret, teenage love ; mixed with murder, guilt and regret creates a tense atmosphere whereby you are wanting to turn the page to see what next! A definite summer read that I would recommend if you can get past the first few chapters, not everyone likes a off the mark book.
