The Heatwave by Katerina Diamond is a stand alone novel and the blurb really attracted me immediately. A seemingly innocent setting, a killer and returning to the past. All good components in my opinion! Without any spoilers the book is set over two periods of time 16 years apart and there are two main protagonists. Set over several locations and revolves around a girl who is missing.
This is definitely one of those books that will keep you guessing right to the very end (although its easy to try and guess what happens but one may find themselves firmly down the wrong rabbit hole! The characters are very likeable as well as believable and its not easy to put it down once you have started! There are more twists and turns than several expensive roller coasters so if that's your thing get this book read as soon as possible! One for under the Christmas tree
