Seems like a sinister, dark novel. The beginning may be too short, in my opinion, but it did the job - it left me curious what a secret is hidden in this dark house, which is described in a specific way - unfriendly, unwelcome, even scary. And this family with issues - rebellious teenager, complicated family situation. It should be a pleasant seaside holiday but seems more sinister and ominous. The house and all strange things happening inside, like electrical issues or phone connections, make the situation claustrophobic. Did someone make that up?
What really has happened in this house before? Is it the haunted house, or just a coincidence and the evil are only living nearby? Why is the atmosphere so specific that it gives me chills and quicken heart-beating?
Well-written left me curious.
