Starts at a cracking pace
An intriguing start. The prologue ladles on the suspense and fear.
Chapter one goes back (possibly) to a family of three, father and daughter along with his second wife, arriving at a big, imposing but oddly gloomy house that they have rented in order to attend an event and then for a holiday afterwards. For all its modernisations, the house feels not quite right. There are strange, fleeting smells and the atmosphere is not helped by various light fuses tripping and the apparent lack of a landline coupled with a very poor mobile signal....
All seems set for a seriously scary read!
