At its heart, this book is a ghost story. It follows the main characters, Nell and Maude, as they stay in a holiday home by the sea. However, the house that they stay in appears to be more than it originally seems. With unexplained noises and hidden items, it seems that the house is full of secrets.
As Nell and Maude spend time away from home they meet a few of the neighbours. As the book develops, along with the neighbours, they begin to piece together some of the mysteries of the house.
This is a fairly creepy book, with lots to unpack. I found it quite fast paced but thought that not a lot happened in the start of the book. It took a while to get going with suddenly a lot happening towards the end. It was a good read but could probably have been made quite a bit shorter by cutting out some of the start.
Overall, this was an easy read which had an unexpected end.
