The hiding place is a story based around a cottage that has a lot of history. Nell rents the cottage with her husband and step daughter in a seaside town where nell grew up so that they can attend a family party. The cottage is much too big for the three of them but it was a last minute thing so it will do. Before the family party comes around nell's husband has to return home to deal with work issues, whilst he is away nell and her step daughter maude seem to annoy each other so much more and butt heads over almost everything. Whilst nell is trying to get some sort of relationship back with her step daughter on this holiday, strange things start to happen around the house. Nells phone disappears, a pregnancy test goes missing, they hear footsteps, and doors banging, obviously maude gets the blame for these things and maude thinks its because nell has never liked her. Untill they find something very strange. Will this explain everything or will it just create more questions?
