This book is seriously brilliant. It is incredibly addictive so much so it should carry a health warning as I got nothing else done once I’d started reading this and managed to read it in one day. Right from the very first chapter you are pulled in and you just feel entranced right until the very last line. The story centres around Nell and Maude as they start their holiday in a hauntingly old house. As they settle in and meet some of their neighbours it becomes clear things are not all as they seem as their lives become entwined with those around them. The story is very chilling and you can feel your pulse racing along with the main characters as the house gradually reveals its secrets. If you unpick this book it is really quite complex with lots of layers but the skill of the writing actually makes it incredibly easy to read as all the elements just work perfectly together. This book is definitely one of my favourite reads of 2021.
