This book is not my usual type of book at all but If you are looking for an eerie, creepy and very atmospheric story for the upcoming Halloween festivities then this one will most definitely hit the spot for you.
This is the story of Nell her husband an twelve year old daughter Maude who rent a holiday cottage by the sea, they need some time out after Maude is mixed up in some troubling events.
The holiday home happens to be in the small town that Nell had grown up in and she is not best pleased to be back in the area.The cottage they are staying in has been left empty for some time and they all notice very quickly that something just doesn't feel right from the very beginning of their stay.
Maude who isn't best pleased at being forced to stay here with her parents soon starts to see the strange marks on the roof beams above her bedroom, and in another room, a hiding place, concealing a strange, unnerving object.
They soon realise that everything is not as it seems and secrets start to come out!
