'The Hiding Place' is not my normal genre of choice, but I'd read and enjoyed Amanda Mason's previous novel 'The Wayward Girl's', so thought this should be a good read.

From the first page you could sense the eeriness of the rental property, and the strain on relationships during their stay is evident. It's told from numerous perspectives... Chris, his wife Nell and Chris's daughter Maude are staying at a holiday cottage as they had been invited to a family gathering at one of Nells relatives and all does not turn out as expected on this trip... It takes you from present day happenings and at times back down memory lane for Nell, or not so memorable... and some of the other characters, (as Nell is from the small town.)

Overall great read, definitely not a holiday rental I'd like to be staying at, but the book itself is worth a visit. Look forward to more from this author.
