I was very much looking forward to reading this book. I loved the beginning and getting to know the characters and the creepy house that they arrive at but the middle part felt a little dry and boring. There could have been so much more creepy stuff happening in this story but i felt the horror side of the book fell slightly short of my initial expectations and felt hard to reach for it again. However the story picked up again about three quarters of the way through and that is what saved it for me, I think a lot of the book could have been shortened down somewhat and would have been a more overall enjoyable book to pick up again and again. I thought the descriptions of the area and the in depth characters were very well written and mostly likable. I think this book would be the perfect gateway into the horror genre for beginners like myself, would definitely look out for more book by this author in the future.
