I felt that this story had promises, which didn’t quite meet. I found the whole thing a bit dull and it really terrifying at all. The main characters were a tad annoying and I also found it hard to follow the conversations between people. It’s trying to be a creepy chilling novel but not quite succeeding it’s also trying to create tension which I am not sure I believe in. I am not really sure what the plot was trying to achieve.
I do feel that other people will find this atmospheric and haunting enough, but it just let me down. Not sure about this one.
I am not sure if there’s more to say, I couldn’t easily place this story and usually I find it relatively easy, but this felt too much like a hodge podge of places along the south west coast and yet it didn’t feel familiar either. It felt too remote and a bit too pointedly set somewhere that had history or a past.
