I thought that this was a really interesting book. The main characters are Nell Galilee, her husband and twelve year old step-daughter Maude. They got to stay in a cottage by the sea, in order to get away from somethings that have happened in their home down.
There is a strange feeling about the town, even though Nell grew up there, and it seems to the main characters that things are not quite what they seem. Maude is a frustrated child and she therefore becomes more engrossed in the strangeness in the house.
I felt that the novel had good pacing and there were lots of twists and turns to keep the reader interested throughout. I felt also as though the characters were very well developed and interesting and I found myself wanting to know the reasons behind their actions, as it seemed as though everyone had a secret to tell.
Overall a good read.
