I'm a ex-climber but still a lover of all things mountaineering and expedition. This excerpt was gripping and captured the adrenaline and obsession of climbers at this level of expertise. El Cap itself is a magical place and I could begin to feel the nature of the rock and conditions being painted. I cannot wait to read more.
