Not my thing
The cover of the book is eye catching and it's good to have that image of just how sheer the climb is. I couldn't quite get into the book, the style of writing was good but I couldn't bring myself to understand why someone would take such a risk just to be the first to do something. I suppose I found the suspense a bit too much, especially when on one of the practice climbs he gets injured, I had to google to find out whether he had managed/ survived the climb in the end or not rather than be able to keep reading. I think this is more to do with me being more of a scaredy cat than anything else though! I passed the book on to a friend's 12 year old son who really enjoyed it, and appreciated it much more than I did!
